Division 3 Clerbrook 19 Hawthorne 7
It took Clerbrook a while to get going while Hawthorne took an early 2-0 lead. But, beginning in the third inning, Clerbrook dominated our Division 3 team, scoring 19 runs in the next 4 innings. Hawthorne’s offense sputtered in those same 4 innings, scoring only 3 runs.

Tony Mellring – starting (and losing) pitcher for the first time this season – also went 3 for 3.
Sam Giovino went 2 for 3.
Bill Lissimore, Rick Levasseur, and Marvin Nagel hit doubles, and Len Garza hit a triple. Marvin and Len also pitched a few innings each.
Division 5 Hawthorne 21 Legacy 12
Hawthorne’s Division 5 team had the “breakout game” of the season. Unfortunately, it was also the last game of the season.
Still, the hitting was sensational with 5 hitters having perfect games (all hits, no outs) and the team accumulating 7 extra base hits (a homerun, a triple, and 5 doubles) most of them coming with men on base!
Hawthorne put up THREE CONSECUTIVE 5-run innings.

Jim Herbert went 5 for 5. Tom Durfee, Bill Devore, Rich Uzzilia, and Mike Prili were all 4 for 4. Tom had a triple, Rich and Mike each had a double, and Randi Vercauteren drove in FIVE runs with a single, a double AND a homerun.
Winning pitcher Larry Auer had two doubles and Joe Tierney had one.
Division 6 Stonecrest 19 Hawthorne 10
Hawthorne’s Division 6 team scored in 7 of 8 innings. Unfortunately, Stonecrest, playing at home, ALSO scored in 7 of 8 innings and scored a LOT more runs.

Art Drolet and Randy Andrews were 3 for 4. Randy hit a triple, Hawthorne’s only extra base hit.
Butch Lichtenberger and Gene Steward were 2 for 3. Both also drew a walk.
The above games ended the 2025-2026 Sun and Fun season.
