This website provides information about the Senior Softball Teams which play for Hawthorne at Leesburg.

The vast majority of our players are residents.

Hawthorne has been fielding softball teams since 2002.   Currently we have three teams, all in the Sun and Fun Senior Softball League.

Sun and Fun teams play on Tuesday and Friday.   All teams play from November to March.

This season, we have 54 players on our teams.     We are also fortunate to have almost a dozen knowledgeable and experienced umpires available for the 40+ games (two umpires per game) we expect to be played on our field.

In March of 2025, we hosted the Del Webb Invitational Tournament Division 6A playoffs. Six teams participated and played 9 games over 3 days.

In February of 2026 we will host the Sun and Fun League Allstar Game(s). That will be a day FULL of softball with the best players in the league participating in as many as 7 (shortened) games.

The Softball Club includes all players, non-playing managers and coaches, and umpires.    Announcers, scorekeepers, scoreboard operators, Dugout Café volunteers, field upkeep workers, spouses/significant others are Auxiliary (non-voting) members.
